This new Master’s-level program is the result of an unprecedented collaboration between Sciences Po Lille and the Ecole Centrale de Lille. These two leading schools on the Lille site have decided to pool their skills to train their students to meet the challenges of the digital revolution. Education, work, culture, information, the economy: there isn’t an area that isn’t impacted by the digitization of our societies. In order to address these issues in all their complexity, the Digital Societies major offers high-level training, combining courses in the humanities and social sciences (sociology and economics of the digital era, personal data law, history of artificial intelligence and computer science, etc.) and statistical and computer engineering (statistics, computer science, data science, etc.). Multidisciplinarity, which is the DNA of our two schools, is indeed more than ever necessary to meet these challenges (whether we think of the generalization of telecommuting, new logics of information circulation, the question of personal data protection, etc.). To analyze digital societies, we need to open the \u00ab\u00a0black box\u00a0\u00bb of algorithms, and to do so, we need a minimum level of computer and scientific literacy.
